Stephan Ladisch, MD, Director, Center for Cancer and Immunology Research (CCIR)Vision Statement
To elucidate the basic mechanisms of childhood cancer and related infectious and immunologic diseases and to develop new treatments through the integration of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology and experimental therapeutics.

Major Strategic Goals
  • To develop a pediatric brain tumor research program.
  • To strengthen the program in tumor host interactions, by added emphasis on tumor immunology.
  • To develop a comprehensive program in the basic biology of autoimmune disease, immunodeficiency, infectious disease, and transplantation
  • To explore the role of the stem cell in malignant transformation.
  • To continue development of cell signaling as it relates to cancer cell biology
