Education

Advances in pediatric health care deem it critical for healthcare professionals to stay up-to-date on the latest treatments, techniques and technologies related to children's health. Since education is a key component of Children's National Medical Center's organizational mission, the hospital sponsors and coordinates medical education programs and courses to help healthcare professionals enhance their skills and achieve success. Children's Research Institute plays an integral part in providing educational resources to support that mission.

Drs. Lotrecchiano, Luban and Wiedermann work to coordinate training programs and services that ensure academic success for faculty.
Children's offers graduate medical education in the form of general pediatric residency training, pharmacy practice residency training and fellowships in a variety of pediatric specialties. Our training is backed by a committed group of faculty educators and cutting-edge research. Proving our excellence in research, Children's houses one of the few National Institute of Health-funded Pediatric Clinical Research Centers in the nation. CRI is also is one of only six Child Health Research Centers supporting the development of pediatrician-scientists funded by the NIH.

Additionally, CRI's Office of Academic Services (OAS) offers an online web portal, the Academic Services Assistance Program (ASAP), that provides users access to all academic training calendars, progammatic information, a complete list of the services available to researchers.

For more information about the ASAP web portal, please visit Academic Affairs and Services.
